The temps these days(and nights) are sweet like honey. I got a piece of metal to make new spring perches and got the oxy-acetylene torch going to cut 2-3/4" holes in the piece then cut the 2 perches to size and welded to the axle 180 degrees round the axle from the original ones. I ran out of mig gas and had to go w/flux core and I didn't like it at all. Time to find a gas supplier local or remember to bring tank when I return to the Lou. The axle is back in place-mounted under the leaf springs instead of above(SOA-spring over axle conversion). This gives maybe 4" more ground clearance for the camper-more silly better to get back to some primitive spots.
This is the new stance w/old tires and wheels-may go w/a larger size since it needs new anyway.
Micheal the stranded Boise Idaho dude I've put to work is helping w/firewood prep to earn some gasoline $. Oh how I dream of winter, near the wood stove (in the house)finishing the Cb450 engine(yes...chill the double overhead cam envy)...if I'm not riding the beast before then.
