1" round hole

making holes square
Maker space on route K today. This morning it was13 (F)  and later only in low 20's- but not at all bad for 30 minute stints outside separated by visits in a house warmed to 80 by carbon sequestered over the past 30 years. I decided to add "lumber racks" to the truck so I can haul the kayak...and occasional frozen dead body. I used some salvaged wood (a hard, dense exotic that was originally part of an outdoor bench-another city yard waste dump find!) and 1" square aluminum tube scrounged from something many moons ago.

 ready for use

Have you ever wanted your Kindle Fire to hang from a hook or nail-I'm not sure I have either...but it can. How about getting it to sit up while it plays a PBS video about Alaskan bears...it can do that too. Here's some wire contraptions(prototypes) made from aluminum service entrance cable stripped and de-stranded as well as blue painters tape.
